NOTE: THIS IS ONLY FOR THE AVENGERS PRO MACHINES, NOT PREM/LE.
Avengers is a very enjoyable machine, and at its best when one enters a zen-like state of combo after satisfying combo on the way to an uplifting score.
But even with exquisite flow, I have noted certain lighting details were overlooked, and it drives the perfectionist in me crazy. A wise proverb says that "Anxiety shortens life," and while I'm not positive it is anxiety I feel when I see the lighting on the Pro version T-H-O-R sign, it is most certainly not a sense of calm or relaxation.
I cannot reconcile the fact that on the graphic next to the lit letters, Mjölnir has bluish white electrical light around it, but the letters right next to it are illuminated with stark, plain white light. It is a failure of harmony. A loud, visual raspberry in the calm of my combo-mad zen.
And so, simply put. I fixed it. I created a bracket that is a spacer for the light boards and a color bracket in one, providing the letters the bluish-white lightning coloring they so desperately need (and have on the Prem/LE versions where the lettering is on playfield inserts). And, I created another bracket to apply a blue cast to the inserts in front of the THOR captive ball as well.
Now that my work is done, you can acquire the calming effect of matched lighting by purchasing the set of two brackets and installing them on your Avengers machine to eliminate yet one more possible point of anxiety from your life.
