This mylar covers the entire landing area above the rollovers to provide extra protection from repetitive balls dropping onto the area with each ball launch and right orbit hit, reducing the chance for expensive playfield chipping. The main photo shows the area with the mylar in place with the backing paper still attached so the coverage area is easy to judge. The closeup over the rollovers shows the mylar already installed and virtually invisible.
A single use alcohol wipe is included to clean the playfield before installation.
INSTALLATION TIPS:
- Grab a credit card or other plastic card like a store loyalty card. You'll need the hard edge to smooth the mylar.
- Installation is easier if you remove the left ramp, but CAN be done with it still in place, it's just more challenging.
- Use the included alcohol wipe to make sure the area where the mylar will go is clean. Let it dry.
- Bend back about 1/2" of the backing paper on the left side of the mylar and crease it hard so it sets as flat as possible against the back side.
- The exposed sticky part of the mylar should hover slightly above the playfield from the fold thickness, allowing you to test alignment first. Use this to align the end with the L cutout around the ramp so you can get the mylar right up to the ramp flap. Once you have that in place, hold that while you press the exposed sticky end by the rollovers firmly to the playfield.
- Double check that the rest of the still papered mylar is lining up. If it ISN'T, pull up the sticky stub and do step 5 again. If it IS still lined up, continue to step 7.
- Lift the mylar enough to grab the 1/2" of backing paper you folded back underneath and slowly pull it from the back as you smooth it with a hard edge like a credit card, etc to make sure no bubbles get under the mylar. Pull and smooth slowly for a good install.
- Smooth the mylar more with the credit card edge if necessary until it seems to disappear into the playfield.
- That's it! You're done!
