This bracket substantially reduces or eliminates airballs from standup targets by a combination of height and angle adjustment of the bracket at rest. It reduces or eliminates airballs, even on famously airball-heavy games like Ghostbusters.

This is the newest version of the bracket developed originally by Swinks. The original bracket was printed metal that became very expensive over time due to price increases by the printing service, so it was redesigned as a stainless steel bracket with a license from Swinks. Quantity manufacturing of this allowed the price to be cut by more than half compared to what it was, and deliver a polished stainless steel bracket that functions the same so more people can experience the impressive difference these make in machines plagued by standup target-launched airballs.

This is the only way to concretely address the problem because it changes the angle AND the height of the bracket. 3D printed wedges address the angle, but change the height incorrectly, so not a proper solution.

Installation is simple. Unscrew the existing target plate from the switch stack, replace it with this, and attach with the same screws you just removed. Done. Expect about a 10 minute or less job per target.

Install on Metallica Premium Remastered

On METRP you will need to remove the drop target assembly to really get to the left side target switches (especially the leftmost one...one screw is bound by the drop target assembly). That means taking off the topside grave marker plastic to get to 2 of the screws holding on drop target assembly. Do those first, then do the 2 screws holding the drop target assembly under the playfield. I had to adjust the switch leaf positions to account for the new angle, mostly just slightly bent each switch away from each other. I would advise meter testing after you reinstall to make sure switch operates as it should. The 2 on the right side are easy to get to.After that they work great for taking out the airballs! I also installed PinMonk's drop target mylar and 72 seasons yellow color inserts at the same time, made it convenient with the drop target topside plastics and bottomside assembly removed.

They work!

My met remaster was airballs galore, really bad. This fixed it. Nothing else did! Glad I got these.

Godzilla Opto 52 solution!

My 2 month old Godzilla Prem had the all-too-common Opto 52 fault. The hit brackets had both been bent back & damaged the optos behind them. The upgraded brackets are much higher quality, have a nice negative angle to reduce airballs & most importantly keep everything away from the opto boards!
These brackets are what Stern should be installing at the factory. Period.
